Hardy’s thirteenth novel, Tess of the D‘Urbervilles is a melodrama in the hands of a master, replete with both emotion and intelligence, quasi-operatic in its use of the characters’ suffering, but also suffused with Hardy’s longing for disappearing rural England, especially his own Dorset, this fertile and sheltered tract of country, in which the fields are never brown and. the springs never dry. The pleasure that Tess of the D’Urbervilles, first serialized in the summer of 1891, provides its readers has not only survived the ferocious attacks of critics and moralists who decried the sordid.
Tess of the d'Urbervilles: A Pure Woman Faithfully Presented is a novel by Thomas Hardy. It initially appeared in a censored and serialised version, published by the British illustrated newspaper The Graphic in 1891, then in book form in three volumes in 1891, and as a single volume in 1892

A dramatic and tragic story, a listener cannot fail to be moved by Tess's story, which is sadly surprisingly familiar to many modern women in the world today. Classic Literature Fiction Thriller.
